Temporary Business visa

There are two ways to get a Canadian work permit if you are the owner of your own business or purchase most percent of a Canadian company. You may apply for the Labour Market Impact Assessment, which, if approved, will give you grounds for a work permit.

Owner Operator:

This specific category has been created for foreign businessmen who wish to either establish or purchase a business in Canada and manage it in Canada. The role of this simplified procedure is to attract business people to the country and make the transition process smooth, easy and quick. if you qualify for this plan You must:

  1. Be a sole or majority shareholder of the company, i.e. demonstrate that you have controlling interest in the business;
  2. Demonstrate that your entry into Canada will result in the creation or retention of jobs for Canadian permanent residents / citizens;
  3. Be independent from any senior management. You must occupy the highest position of power in the company and have no superiors.

Other Requirements:

  • Draft a Business Plan
  • Applicant must be actively involved in the business
  • In your business plan, show an intention to hire Canadian citizens or permanent residents

 

Intra-Company Transferee :

The intra-company transferee program allows people to temporarily work in Canada. This program allows multinational companies with a branch, parent company, affiliate or subsidiary in Canada to temporarily transfer key foreign employees of their company to work in Canada. Employees who have worked for the company for at least one year on a full-time basis, and hold specialized knowledge or an executive or managerial position may qualify.

In order to be eligible to work in Canada under the Intra-Company Transfer program, foreign workers must fall into one of three defined categories:

  1. Executivesprimarily direct the management of the enterprise, or a major component thereof, and receive only general (if any) supervision from higher level executives.
  1. Senior managers manage all or part of the enterprise and supervise or control the work of other managers or professional employees.
  1. Workers with ‘specialized knowledge’can demonstrate specialized knowledge of the enterprise’s product or service, or an advanced level of expertise in the enterprise’s processes and procedures.
